Behemoth merch at Merch Idol is a collection of original T shirts, hoodies, long sleeves and sweatshirts for fans of Polish extreme metal. Our artists build each design around the dark, ritual imagery that blackened death metal fans expect: occult symbols of our own making, serpents, ravens, wolves, Baltic storms and heavy gothic lettering. These are fan made designs. They are not official Behemoth merchandise, and Merch Idol is not affiliated with or endorsed by Behemoth, its members or its management.

About Behemoth

Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band formed in 1991 by Adam “Nergal” Darski in Gdańsk. The band started in the black metal underground and released its debut album, Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic), in 1995. Over the next two decades it moved toward a heavier blackened death metal sound and broke through internationally with Demigod (2004), The Apostasy (2007) and Evangelion (2009). The Satanist (2014) is still widely seen as its defining record (Blabbermouth).

The band has stayed busy. Its 13th full length album, The Shit Ov God, came out in May 2025 on Nuclear Blast. In 2026 Nergal marked 30 years of Sventevith by performing the whole album live at European festivals, and Behemoth announced I, Scvlptor, an eight track release due on September 4, 2026 through Massacre Records, followed by the In League With Satan tour of Europe with Dimmu Borgir in October (Blabbermouth). Nergal has said the band plans to take most of 2027 off after that run.

Design Themes in This Collection

Extreme metal shirts follow their own visual rules, and fans notice when a design gets them wrong. Ours stay inside that tradition without copying any band logo, album cover or stage photo.

  • Ritual and occult art: sigils, inverted geometry, candles and engraved style illustrations drawn from scratch by our team.
  • Baltic and Slavic folklore: stormy seas, old forests, wolves and ravens, a nod to the band’s roots on the Polish coast.
  • Black on black: tonal grey and black prints that look sharp up close and stay subtle from a distance.
  • Back print tour style: a small chest graphic on the front and a large illustration on the back, the classic layout of a metal tour shirt.

Why Black Shirts Fade and How to Stop It

Almost every extreme metal shirt is black, and black cotton fades faster than any other color. Dye sits on the surface of the cotton fibers, and friction in the washing machine wears it away. Hot water and strong detergent speed this up. A few habits keep a black shirt dark for years:

  • Wash inside out so the outer surface and print rub less against other clothes.
  • Use cold water, 30°C (86°F) or lower, and a detergent made for dark colors.
  • Wash full loads of dark clothing only, on a short or gentle cycle.
  • Line dry out of direct sunlight. UV light fades black dye just like heat does.
  • Wash less often. Airing a shirt out between wears is often enough after a short wear.

Plastisol, Water Based and DTG Prints

Metal shirts usually rely on one of three print types. Plastisol ink is the traditional screen printing ink. It sits on top of the fabric, gives strong opaque color on black shirts and survives many washes, which is why it has dominated concert merch for decades. Water based ink soaks into the fabric instead, so it feels soft and almost invisible to the touch, with a slightly faded look. DTG (direct to garment) printing handles fine detail, shading and gradients, which suits detailed illustration work. Each product page states the print method so you know what to expect.

Dressing for Metal Festivals in Europe

Many extreme metal fans travel to open air festivals across Europe, where evenings turn cold fast even in summer. Layering works best. Wear a midweight tee as your base, add a long sleeve when the sun drops, and keep a heavyweight hoodie in your bag for the late headliner slot. If you like to layer, size up one size in hoodies so they fit comfortably over a long sleeve.

Long Sleeves and Sleeve Prints

The long sleeve shirt has a special place in extreme metal. It gives artists extra space for designs running down both arms, and it suits the cold climates of the Polish, Scandinavian and German scenes. A typical layout has a front illustration, a back print and text or symbols along each sleeve. When you choose a long sleeve, check the sleeve length on the size chart, since sleeves that are too long bunch at the wrist and hide the print.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this official Behemoth merchandise?

No. These are original fan designs by Merch Idol. Official Behemoth merchandise is sold through the band’s official webstore and at its shows.

Do your designs use the Behemoth logo?

No. We do not reproduce the band’s logo, album artwork or photos. Our designs are original artwork inspired by the style of the genre.

What size should I choose for a boxy metal tee?

Measure a shirt you already own across the chest, armpit to armpit, and compare it with our size chart. Heavyweight tees often have a wider, boxier cut, so stay with your normal size unless you want an oversized look.

Are these a good gift for a metal fan?

Yes, as long as you match the style. Extreme metal fans usually prefer dark, detailed artwork on black shirts, so a black tee or long sleeve is the safest choice.

Do you ship to Poland and the rest of Europe?

Yes. Merch Idol ships worldwide, including Poland, the UK and the rest of Europe. Delivery options and estimates for your country appear at checkout.
